Coast 2 Coast held its seventh annual Operation Christmas Child shoebox packing event, in which employees filled boxes with holiday gifts that will be sent to children in need around the world.
Operation Christmas Child is an ongoing program of Samaritan’s Purse, a humanitarian aid organization. Since 1990, the program has delivered over 124 million shoeboxes to children in more than 100 countries.
Each year Coast 2 Coast kicks off the Christmas season with a fun, hands-on, service opportunity involving the whole team. Shoe boxes full of toys, school supplies, personal items and other small gifts are packed up and delivered to a drop off location during national collection week. For every shoebox that employees across the U.S. contribute, the company matches the donation. This year a total of 226 shoe boxes were created for children around the world.
